3 Dead, 25 Hurt In Arkansas Tornadoes

Photo: AP -- Felled trees lie strewn on the ground after last Saturday's tornado ripped a 149-mile path through Mississippi, causing a large amount of damage.

According to authorities, Tornadoes ripping through central Arkansas killed 3 and injured about two dozen others last Friday.

Tornado sightings were reported just a few miles north in Culpepper, according to Arkansas State Police. A sheriff's dispatcher said a sighting also was reported in the Oakland area, near the Missouri border. There are Trees and power lines were blocking major roadways in both areas.

Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Renee Preslar says the death was reported in Van Buren County - about 75 miles north of Little Rock - where at least three mobile homes were destroyed. He added that about two dozen people were hurt during the storms, but local officials who reported the deaths and injuries to the state agency did not immediately release the severity of the injuries or details about how the individuals were hurt.

Catherine Bach's Husband Dies

AP - Coroners officials says a successful entertainment attorney who was married to actress Catherine Bach was found dead in an apparent suicide on Friday.

According to coroner's office operations chief Craig Harvey, Peter Lopez, 60, died of a gunshot wound at his home in the Encino Hills, He said that a neighbor reported hearing a shot and someone at the home found Lopez's body.

Publicist Steve Rohr, Bach and her two daughters suffered a "tragic personal loss."

According to the National Cancer Institute, prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer among men in the United States, behind skin cancer, and usually occurs in older men. In 2009, an estimated 192,000 new cases of prostate cancer were diagnosed, and about 27,000 men died from the disease.

Mississippi Hits By Tornado Killesd 10

Yazoo City, Mississippi - A Tornado in nearly a mile wide ripped through the Southeast on Saturday, killing 10 people including three (3) children in Mississippi and injuring more than a dozen others. There are four (4) people in critical condition according to the report. Roofs were torn off businesses, homes were splintered, and roads were blown.

Russia Launches U.S. Telecommunications Satellite "AMC-4R"

According to spokesman of Russian Space Forces "Alexei Zolotukhin", a Russian Proton-M rocket carrying an AMC-4R telecommunications satellite blasts off last Saturday from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Zolotukhin said that the Proton-M rocket whicj blasted off from the Kazakh Baikonur cosmodrome at around 03:19 p.m. Moscow time (1119 GMT), sent the U.S. SES-1 satellite into space.
